Booking Christmas Week: Why It's Already Later Than You Think

Christmas and New Year week isn't priced or booked like a normal week in the Alps, and it's worth understanding why before you assume there's plenty of time.

Chalets across all three of our destinations see returning international clients rebook their exact dates as much as a year in advance, often before they've even left the previous year's stay. By the time a first-time visitor starts seriously comparing options in October or November, the best chalets for the size and dates they want are frequently already gone, not because of artificial scarcity, but because the group who had it last year already asked for it again.

Our booking terms reflect how far out this planning happens: a 30% deposit secures the dates, with the balance due 60 days before arrival. If you're booking within 10 weeks of arrival, the full amount is due at booking, which is common for last-minute Christmas-week inquiries once most chalets are already spoken for.

None of this is meant to pressure a decision, it's simply how this specific week works differently from the rest of the season. If Christmas or New Year is even a possibility for your group, the honest advice is to start the conversation now rather than waiting until the dates feel urgent, by then the choice may already be narrower than you'd like.
